Do you want a best buddy? Angus could be that special one. He is Black, but may have some brindle too as he gets older, his mom does, but that just makes him more beautiful. Scottish terriers are their family's BFF's. They just want to please you. They are very easy to train, they do have the Scottish terrier attitude, so they do need FIRM, but GENTLE discipline. They make WONDERFUL companions and a great member to your family. They are Loyal, True, Friendly, FULL of love for their family.
Male vs female: Males tend to be less moody than a female & is just as sweet and lovable. It's good to get them neutered at an early age (before 5 months) and then they would rarely have the tendency to mark their territory, nor will they have the urge to run off.
Maintenance: Need to be brushed 2-3 times a week and will need to be groomed.
Shipping: I AM sorry, but due to our hot climate, I WILL NOT BE ABLE to ship my pups. I could meet you part way for an extra charge ? can be discussed with you. My husband is going to Denver, CO in July - he could meet you there if that helps.
I truly love the Scottish terrier breed. I have the Dam & Sire, both are wonderful dogs with a very gentle disposition to those they know I approve of. Also are wonderful watch dogs. The Litter was (5 males & 3 females ? ONLY TWO MALES ARE LEFT) were born and raised in my laundry room, off my kitchen. I was blessed to be able to watch each birth, female did all the work. I was able to hold them immediately after birth and each and every day of their lives, so they are really used to human contact and all household noises.
They are AKC registered. They have had their dew claws removed. They will be pet door trained ? will only need 1 more puppy shot and one more worming. Hopefully I will be able to have them leash trained. They will be used to a grassy yard, concrete patio, carpet and hardwood flooring. They may even be partially paper trained and they will be used to a cage.
